Sterling Silver Eye of Horus Pendant With Falcon & Cobra
Sterling Silver Eye of Horus Pendant With Falcon & Cobra
Solid Sterling Silver (.925) Egyptian Eye of Horus Pendant
This unique pendant features the eye of the falcon-headed Egyptian sky god Horus; ancient Egyptians used these amulets for protection from evil and rebirth in the underworld. Many tombs, coffins, and mummies are decorated with this ancient symbol. According to myth, Horus' evil brother Seth killed Osiris, and Horus lost one eye to Seth during a fight in which Horus attempted to avenge Osiris' murder. The eye was reassembled by Thoth, the god of writing, using magic. When Horus presented the reassembled eye to Osiris, he experienced a rebirth in the underworld. It's a fascinating tale too long to go into in depth on an Etsylisting! Flanked on either side of the eye of Horus are the figures of the vulture and the cobra. Handcrafted in solid sterling silver, this would make an outstanding addition to your wardrobe!
I have included a photograph of the pendant next to a quarter for size reference. Pair this pendant with a necklace or chain and show your inner renegade.
