Sterling Silver Celtic Trinity Knot Shield Pendant
Sterling Silver Celtic Trinity Knot Shield Pendant
A unique Celtic triquetra knot crafted in solid sterling silver, this Celtic pendant features the classic trinity symbol surrounded by more intricate Celtic knotwork with additional trinity symbols. In Celtic folklore, the trinity is an aspect of feminine energy (mother, maiden, crone). While triquetra originally meant "triangle", it now more specifically represents the more intricate shape formed of three visicae piscis, as seen here. There are three additional knots forming the perimeter of the pendant, each containing three interlaced arcs (three repeats itself many times over in this design). The Celtics favored the idea that everything important in the world came in threes: 3 stages of life, 3 elements (earth, sea, sky), and 3 domains (past, present, & future).
I have included a photograph of the pendant next to a quarter for size reference. Pair this pendant with a necklace or chain and show your inner renegade.
