Small Sterling Silver Thor's Hammer w/ Norse Runes Pendant
Small Sterling Silver Thor's Hammer w/ Norse Runes Pendant
Beautifully detailed Thor's Hammer pendant, adorned with the Celtic trinity knots and surrounded by Norse runes. Thor's hammer is perhaps the most historically significant and most well known Norse symbols today. In Old Norse, Thor's hammer was called Mjollnir, (pronounced MIOL-neer). Thor was the hammer wielding god that protected Asgard, the celestial stronghold of the Aesir, the main tribe of gods and goddesses in Norse mythology. Thor, whose name origin can be traced back to a proto-Germanic root that means "thunder", was the animating spirit of a storm, and the thunderous sound was experienced as his hammer came crashing down on his foes.
I have included a photograph of the pendant next to a quarter for size reference. Pair this pendant with a necklace or chain and show your inner renegade.
