This is perhaps the most symbolic Buddha pose of all; it is the moment Buddha attained enlightenment. The legend has it that Buddha had been meditating for years when the demon Mara tried to tempt him. Buddha overcame the temptation and touched the ground the summon the Earth Goddess to witness his enlightenment.
